same thing bothers me, too.
it's annoying having to shut off engine and push the button again to get to acc mode if I want to let my son keep watching dvd when we arrive home.
Is there a way to shut off the engine but keep accessory on?

Doesn't "acc" stay on if you put your foot on the brake and push the button, but the car is not in "Park"?

I've only had my GS 460 for a few weeks so I don't have too many issues. My main critique has to do with the steering wheel controls for the radio. When I arrow up or down, it only goes through the pre-sets that I have programmed into my Satellite/Am/Fm radio. I wish there were a way, especially with Satellite Radio, to flip through the individual stations when I hit those arrow keys.

I know how you feel. Thumbing through the tune arrows or tune **** is so inconvenient for satellite radio. Or it would be nice to fit more presets on a single screen instead of having to switch to SAT2 or SAT3 or something. 8-10 could easily fit on a single screen.

Yup, just like SF7307 said: put gear shift into N, push IGN button, then shift into P. Piece of cake. . .

I completely agree. We set the presets by XM category, but once you're in the right category, you still have to turn the **** to scroll through the stations within that category. Add to that that the **** is too "soft" -- I find the scrolling not at all crisp; I'd prefer to push a button multiple times than to turn that ****. I also agree with the other poster than we could fit many many more presets on a single page.

thanks a lot. this solved my problem.
start/stop button is cool, but not that cool when you have to trick the car to stay in acc mode while shutting off engine imo.
maybe lexus can halve the button with right half working like current start/stop button and left half looping around the off-acc-ignition modes. just some crazy thoughts.

+1 for that. even if they didn't cram more buttons on the touch screen, seems like they could use toggle function on the touch screen like the hard buttons where more than 1 station can be saved per button. push it once for station a, push it again within 3 secs and get a 2nd station or something.

That is an excellent idea. Kind of like "drilling down" in a windows-based computer program. If they wanted to, could XM do that, or would Lexus have to do something and would it involve a new disk, a firmware update, what?
