Am I the only 3GS owner with Nav that had to manually adjust the digital clock for DST ???
My apologies, I thought you meant you had to set your clock from scratch. At the risk of being offensive, I can think of many other things to complain about than having to press a button twice a year for DST.

How is this done? I have adjusted this setting and it still jumps to the nav from the backup camera after I'm done backing up. It will also default to the nav if the parking sensors are tripped.

There is a option on the menu button I think: Time before switching back to nav screen, just select never. This is on the gen 5 version 7.1.

actually time does set automatically. quite a few times already when i work on car power disconnected and when back, time was whack. after a few mins it automatically set itself

Correct that, its in the info button, screen setting, set auto switch back to nav screen to off.

Negative. Trust me I've tested this on my GS. I keep my wristwatch sync'd to GMT (same as GPS/military satellites), its fairly accurate - it loses a sec/day, so I resync every 30 days. My GS digital clock runs fast, it was 2 mins fast at DST, so I resynched it to my watch. If the GS syncs with GPS, it wouldn't be more than a few seconds off at any given period, let alone be fast by 2 mins. Try syncing the GS clock w/your cell phone (GPS synched), I bet they'll be out of sync in a week...

No problem. You're not offending me, the thread is about annyoing features, and one person's annoyance is another's nirvana. If you remeber in my post, I confessed that I was nit-picking - when it comes to watches/clocks I'm a bit OCD. Think of it this way, when do you ever have to manually adjust your cellphone for DST or time zone changes ? If you can utilize GPS to time sync a $50 cellphone, why can't Lexus on their vehicles equipped with Nav ???

This setting definitely will keep it from flipping back to map if you press the audio button etc. I think it still does default to map after you trigger the backup camera for example.

i didn't say it's going to be accurate to atomic clk or so though, i just said it will automatically set itself to the "right time". i actually said i have no idea how they set the clock, through GPS or something else. but it does set something close

to be honest, i won't care about 2 mins on the clk i my car

as long as it's not showing 5:15 when it's 5:30, i am good.

That's a nice little upgrade on Gen5 systems. On the Gen4, I have that same button/setting under the info screen and have turned it to off. It keeps the system from defaulting back to the map after you push Audio or Climate etc. But if you go to reverse or the sensors trip, it goes back to map.

Also after every time you make or receive a call -- I do this a lot -- it goes right back to the map screen, even if you want it to stay on the audio screen.

The Rotton Egg smell from the exhaust ... (has anyone had this fixed?) I've read about it... and sounds like the dealer usually recommends changing fuels (which I've done) ..

I hate on my 2007 GS350:
1) Gas button location. Of course they fixed it on the 08.
2) Not having nav but paying full price like I had one. Again, they fixed that on the 08.
3) Ticking sound from engine. BUT that's normal and I can live with it.
4) Not strong seat vents.
