Default Side Mirror(s) Not Returning to Proper Position from Reverse

When shifting from reverse to park or drive, the mirror tilts back up but not in the position it was prior. It is actually quite irritating because I would start driving and have to adjust the mirrors back to the desired setting. I've also just sat there and shifted from park -> reverse -> park and recalled the memory setting and I will see it make the adjustments. Has anyone else experienced this?

So what's your consensus? I have this exact problem. I back into spots when I have time or if I'm parking for a while. Randomly I'll be driving and notice that the mirrors didn't revert back to the set angle when shifting back into drive after they tilted down for reverse. I agree with the thread about turning it off is not a solution. I absolutely use that feature anytime I back into a spot to get as close to the curb as possible without hitting it.

I haven't had the opportunity to try what the thread said (in regards to "resetting it," by tilting it up/down to the max). I will have time tomorrow to report back although I am skeptical.

The gears are stripped and that makes it go farther? I would think if the gears were stripped it wouldn't go as far.

So I did what the thread said (tilting it to the max both up and down) and it seems to have helped but I will need more time to see if it really did anything.

I am curious, if the gears are stripped, wouldn't that hinder movement with the mirrors? I'm wondering why it doesn't recall the spot it was at prior to me shifting to reverse.

That's what he's saying is that the gears weren't made for constant moving. But I thought that was pertaining to the gears that fold the mirrors in and out, not the gears that adjust the angle of the mirror. That wouldn't make any sense. That would mean that Lexus made the worst power mirrors out of almost any other vehicle with power mirrors.
