Default Hood Release Latch Just Broke !!!!!!!! Anyone Have This Problem

I was waxing the car this evening and I noticed the rubber seal along the side of the hood was pushed aside. So I opened the hood to adjust the seal and realized there was a broken clip for holding the seal along the inside edge of the engine compartment. Realizinfg there was nothing I could do and that I would mention it to them at the next oil change I shut the hood. When I looked inside the car I noticed the release handle was still down like it had been pulled. I went to push it back in and the damn thing broke. I cant believe that something like a relese switch would break that easilly. That was probably the 2nd time I have ever even opened the hood of the car, and I have oly had two oil changes. Is this common.? I am kind of upset at the poor quality and the fact that I will have to take the car in for something this stupid.

u should trade in the car for another car, it seems like u have one too many problems...

not normal for it to break off, i open and close my hood atlease every 2 weeks. i try to clean my engine bay or wipe off whatever water i can. i hate a dirty engine bay and whatever else.

Definitely not cool...Take that in and have them replaced it. Of course it goes without saying something like this should be covered under warranty.

It's just a hassle to have to drive in and waste your valuable time and money.

I totally agree. I just had itin for the dash rattle, and headlights, and the car was perfect. Then I goto polish/wax the car and this crap happens. Very frustrating. My time is very valuable, and I bought a lexus bec they are supposed to be perfect. What a stupid part to break. It didnt leave me stranded or anything , but still its annoying.

would you trade yours in? Wind noise, headlight aim, and dash rattle are pretty damn common on these cars. Im sure you have or will have the dash rattle, and the headlight prob is universal. But for a stupid hood latch to break. I have had alot of tuned cars and pop the hoods of them regularly. Never experienced this before.

Take it to the dealer they outta fix it promptly.

Why in the world would you be popping the hood all the time? No one looks at the plastic fantastic, nor wants to.

No I wouldn't. My car doesn't have wind noise, headlight aim or a dash rattle. And if they did, it doesn't bother me much because I use the radio when I drive or other people are in the car. I'm not super picky, after all its a car... you will always need a car.

there is no perfect car, but yes I expected the best the modern auto industry can provide. Thats why I bought the GS over the M35 infiniti. Infiniti was sportier, but the body lines and interior quality turned me off. plus they didnt have the reliability ranking that lexus did
