Unhappy Problems with GS Hood

Okay today I popped my Hood to check the oil level and when I closed it, the hood wouldn't latch. It's cold here in Michigan so I thought the latch my be a little frozen since I washed my car ealier. So I started the car and waited ten minutes. Came back outside and it still didn't close. I sat back in the car and noticed the little release switch didn't close properly so I pushed it with my hand and it didn't stay up like it normally does. I will be taking it to the dealer Monday morning but I was wondering if some of you guys ever incountered this before?
It (the switch inside the car) feels like the tension isn't all there. I am guessing the steel cable that attaches to the hood release lever and the component that actually releases the hood came loose.
Any clues

I had the same problem as you one time. A few friends and I were just looking under the hood because we heard a weird sound and wanted to check out . Everything checked out fine, went to close it and it didnt catch.. tried again and the same thing. Eventually I gave it a good shove and it shut... never had the problem again though. Good luck with you problem.

(Just wanted to know your not alone)

When you say "Gave it a good shove" did it tak eafter hte first good shove or did it take multiple shoves. I thought I wa giving it some good shoves but stupid thing didn't lacth yet. I will try again before I take it to the dealer. Don't want to pay for anything I can do my self.

It took a few good shoves.. by a few of us. I have a feeling maybe it just wasn't catching in the right spot? Good luck buddy.
