Default Input needed - 2007 GS350 or 2006 GS430

Hey there - just need some others input on a couple of cars that I've found and like. Both are being sold thru different Lexus dealerships:

#1 - 2007 GS350 - ~12K miles. No Navigation or Mark Levinson stereo.
#2 - 2006 GS430 - ~35K miles. Fully loaded and has CPO warranty

The price difference between the two is negligible based on the negotiation I've done on both (~ $600 diff). The issue for me is the lack of navigation on the GS350. I haven't ever had it in a previous vehicle before but was thinking it would be nice to have in the Lexus. Aftermarket Nav or run with the fully loaded GS430?

I'm biased...but maybe wait a little longer or keep looking and get an 07 that is fully loaded. the newer nav system is better in the 07 that the 06 430. now, i love the v8 and the sport suspension. BTW, how much are you looking at for either?

same here. to me there is absolutely no reason to get the gs430. old engine, bad gas mileage, same power. i just don't see the reason.

just wait for a 07 loaded and reasonable mileage

wait for a 350, but DO NOT get that 350 w/o nav. Lexus w/o nav get terrible resale value! Nobody wants them!

Default Thanks

Thanks for the info. Yeah, I'm hesitating on the 350 as well just because it doesn't have Nav, so that's a good indicator in itself. The price on both of these are around $36K (which is pretty close to my top end right now) so it might be tough for me to find a 350 with Nav. Anyway, I appreciate the reponses.

Don't put too much into resale value. Cars are advancing so quickly that resale value should have little consideration ina purchase (something I wouldn't have said 20 years ago).

Go with the GS430 (2006) if you will keep the car longer then 7..8 years. But no matter how you choose (and if I was to consider resale value), with a new model 2 years away, doesn't make much a difference. Ask anyone trying to sell a previous generation GS. Very few out there want to bite on an ol' horse.

36k for a gs350 with 12k miles and no nav/ML? that's far from a good price.

definitely wait, it's worth it

The 2006 GS430 looks great and I love the interior and exterior colors of it. Also has new tires which is a plus. Yes, I would like to keep the car for a at least 7 or 8 years.

I love the 430 torque and sound with the 8 cylinders. To me it's a nice difference, and smoothness with the larger engine, even with similar horsepower.

I would go with an 07 GS350 over a 06 GS430 for obvious reasons.

1) Gen 5 Nav on the 07
2) GS350 yields better fuel economy vs. v8.

If I were in your shoes, I would wait for maybe an 07 GS350 ML/NAV CPO. But it's all about preference.

I'll passed on the 10+ years old technology of GS430's engine...
