Default 07 GS 350 K & N Typhoon Mod. Any Feedback ?

I am thinking about doing the upgrade to the K&N Typhoon intake. Can anyone let me know the benefits or problems ? Does this impact my warranty ? I heard it sounds louder ? What performance gains can I expect ?

Any input would help me make my decision.

I recently got it for christmas :P I did a DIY+2 friends to help me. hardest thing was getting the rubber on for the barrier :P

Benefits : it sounds louder but only if u pull 3k+ rpm. I feel a tiny boost from it also but that might just be from the sound am hearing from my very quiet car :P
Problems : your gunna wanna hear it so ur mpg gunna go down :P
Warranty : My friend says it doesnt but you could always switch back ur intake before you take it in to the dealer.

Short ram hot air intake. There's more sound benefit than performance. Check with the 2IS guys as many of them had gone through different intake systems on their IS350.

Most intakes will do absolutely NOTHING to benefit your performance output. Its all in your mind. I have seen however, that you gain 1-3mpg on the hwy.

Thanks for the feedback. I have heard some intakes and they can get pretty noisy. I appreciate the comments from someone who is not trying to sell the item.

I Purchased one, real mickey mouse piece of Crap, I got the 90% Installed and went to put the Filter on, its so covered with oil, it kept slipping off the Tube, I screwed it down a little more, and Crashed the end of the Tube, I returned thing.
You would think for the price, it would be a better Quality.
I would not recamend

If you listen to the you tube videos the intake sounds louder than the exhaust. I am going to avoid the cold air intake systems for the lexus

cold air intakes and even exhaust systems for modern normally aspirated vehicles produce very small hp gains, they are more for sound. It only makes you feel like you are going faster. I still think it changes the entire attitude of the car when it has an exhaust on it
