Default Dose 4GS Intake Pipe w/ Generator fit of 3GS 350?

Hi all,

I've been toying with the idea of installing the 4th generation GS 350 F-Sport Intake (2013+) on my 3rd generation GS 350. From my understanding, the Joe-Z Intake pipe is the same, which led me to believe that the 4th generation intake with the sound creator would fit our cars as well. I'm thinking about doing this upgrade to get the additional induction noise that the 4th generation GS benefits from, while maintaining an OEM look under the hood (for inspection purposes). Has anyone done this? Thanks in advance

In theory, this should work. I have a friend who is a Lexus Certified Master Tech and he said that if I wanted the intake sound with the reliability of the OEM filtering, this is the way to go. You just need the intake tube and the intake sound generator portion.

Awesome! Thanks! I was thinking that when I saw that the Joe-Z intake was the same, there might be a possibility to add the sound generator to the 3rd generation GS.

I'm doing a couple of things as well: bought a spare intake box and I will be putting the holes in it like the F Sport Intake Box for the IS350 has and also the sound generator.

i cant imagine how it would produce the sound.. it looks like a catch can to me that catches excess dirt or water escaping from the air filter? air seems to be diverted into that extra area and does go no where.. with it eliminated you get more air in your engine don't you?

- Basically it amplifies the pulses/waves that the intake makes when the engine is running and under load.

What is the verdict? Is it worth spending $160+ for the intake mod? I am temped to do it for my Gs350

Thank you for the explanation. So I am assuming it just funnels the excess air towards the firewall letting you hear the sound better. So the top tube going upwards is a open hole.

So no performance gain either, just that sexy sound that soothes your ears at high RPMs.

It is a fully sealed unit. If it had an opening, you'd run into a lean condition as the motor would be leaking air to the atmosphere......

so its a closed system... air goes into the diaphragm and just ends at the end of the tube? maybe I need to see the part close in person to get it...
