Default new guy saying hello

I have a gs with all the goodies comming next week from socal, this seems like the place with the most traffic,,, and the most answers. I'm sure I'll be asking some very lame questions shortly.

where do you guys order stock parts from?

and where do you order aftermarket stuff from? Is there a good internet place for stuff like suspension, brakes, specifically, where can I order some wheels and tires from guys that know wtf they're talking about?

first things first, I need wheels, tires, and a set of springs.

clues would be great. I'll find them eventually, and I will search, but a pointer would help

thanks

jerry

Welcome to Club Lexus Jerry

As far as ordering aftermarket parts are concerned. A good place to start would be our Vendor forum. Here at Club Lexus we have vendors that cater to everything from paint protection to, you name it, wheels, tires, exhaust and just about any other aftermarket part you can think of.

Here's a link to the Club Lexus Vendor Marketplace

Default One good source

Welcome to CL!

I ordered Tourmaline rims, TPMS and tires from a vendor here, Sewell Lexus. The service was good and the prices were better than from 3 local dealers. One of the local dealers said they were going to start ordering from Sewell since they could not get the prices that Sewell offered.

The web site is www.lexus-parts.com.

You seriously paid $379.00 for a set of TPMS sensors?
You could have gotten a set on ebay for under $50.

Actually it was around $320 for 4 of them. Yes, I know ebay is there but when it comes to somthing on my new GS, I would rather buy from a dealer. The deal was on the rims....less than half of what the other dealers wanted.

I guess i am cheap
I've got the tires from tire rack (cheapest anywhere), sensors and 18" dealer take off wheels on ebay and mounted them at Wal-mart ($5 per tire) and cost was fraction of what the dealer was asking. And got rid of the 17" AWD rims and run flat tires on ebay and I am in about $400 and my wife is just happy that I didn't spend anymore money.

yeah you are frugal (although i do similar things). I didn't even know Walmart even changed tires...I guess I'm a Target kind of guy if I have a choice.
good to know...my wife sounds like yours.. what do you mean you are going to spend more money on that car LOL

Emptying our savings account and blowing it all on a camry sized 4 door sedan was enough for her
Not exactly a wise financial move

Regarding Wal-mart, I discovered it recently. Only select stores has the tire/lube center. Prices $5 per tire for mounting. They list one time balance at $3.50 but I think my guy forgot to charge me. But even at $8.50 per tire, that is far cheaper than $20-30 per tire charged by regular tire store.

Smart move all around! My deal with Sewell was buying new rims, TPMS and tires from Tire Rack (their recommendation) and $10 for mounting TPMS and tires. I also sold my 17's here on the Tire and Wheel forum.

Point is, the newbee was asking for a good place to go for stock parts and Sewell was more than fair.

It's good to know about positive buying experiences!

I take the truck to walmart, it is indeed very inexpensive.
The one around here cannot do anything fancy, neither do they have the latest and greatest hunter mounting and balancing machines
