Does anyone know if the new gs have the auto folding side mirrors? if so, does it automaticly fold when you turn off the engine, and if it doesnt, is there a way you can hack that?.

The GS does have folding mirrors, but they are manual. You have to use a crank, kinda like my bay window in my kitchen. Yu have to roll them out. Old school if you ask me.

Very dangerous to do so for the passenger side while in-motion; however, Lexus nanny engineers disabled the ability to fold/un-fold the mirror while in-motion so no worries!
Wiat the ES would auto fold when you turn the engine off? Oh now I'm more mad.
I don't think the ES has auto-fold mirrors. It does have the auto-dimming and auto- reverse tilt. As far as I know, the outside mirrors only fold manually.
and i think quite a few more cars out there can do this, 3 series, 5 series, c class and e class (i am pretty sure about 3 series)
i can never understand why this is so much of a trouble for lexus, especially when they have the button already. the ls460 folds automatically....
not to mention this feature is sooo old school in a lot of other countries
I've never seen any of the 3/5/C/E locally with the mirrors folded while parked...
This feature's old school in a lot of other countries because they have to parallel park on the side of narrow streets. That and there are just so much stupid liability in the US. Same reason they don't have guidelines on the back-up camera in 3GS.
