Ok.... 2:45am,...think I should get some gas as I only have 2 or 3 gal's left... get to the gas station... hit the button... I hear a noise suggesting it was trying to open.. but no dice.

A lexus should not have such a stupid problem.... so I guess a trip to the dealership....

 

no no - no trip to the dealership needed.

peel back the liner in the trunk on the side of the gas cap and you'll see a black piece of metal connected to a nylon strap. pull it. that will open up your gas cap cover.

thanks.... but still,...retarded a car of this stature even has this on it's resume now....

...no car's perfect...but this is Ford Escort level failure... ( minus the transmission, engine, and everything else that would break on an escort )

 

honestly - i haven't heard of too many GS cars having this issue.
