hi i was wondering do any1 having trouble with the gas lid keep closing on you when you try to add gas?

 

Yup, same thing here. It won't stay open on its own. Also, the cap won't sit in the cradle in the door. Who designs this stuff?

 

No problems with the lid, but the cap keeper is a joke.

Love my RX but the cap holder is a total joke. Hard to believe it was reviewed and tested by Lexus before release to production. But after it was released, how was it not fixed a year later? Continuous improvement is a pretty cool thing and little things like this are low hanging fruit for improvement.

 

i mean if the cap is stiill closed the gas lid will keep trying to close cuz its attached to the cap. but if i loosened and put it on the gas lid its oky never had this problem on my gs before. and another thing is theres no push on the lid to open kinda werid that it still use the button.

You mean that you actually have the old fashioned gas attendant that pumps it for you? Does he check oil and clean the windshield? They must not trust the regular guy with a pump nozzle in hand. Wow!

Two years with my RX 350, no problem with the lid, always stays open and the cap fits on the holder perfectly.

 

Correct. Hybrids have the button in the dash, while non-hybrids have the push-door. Something to do with the hybrids requiring some fuel valve/thingy to be "prepped" before you can fill the tank. It's in the manual somewhere, my memory is foggy.
