Default GS 450h electric engine run

I was bored the other day and decided to try an run my 450h on battery only. To do this I had to keep the car under 10 mph and on mostly level surface. I timed it and has able to get about 4mins of run time before the engine kicked in. My question is, can I get it so the gs 450h can run battery only ? They do it on Toyota Prius. Has anyone ever herd of this being done ?

I've thought some about this too. The 450h has a much larger battery than the prius and in theory both engines should work similary even though the consumers of both on average require different things from the car. I would think there could be something done to turn the 450h hybrid drive to be economical focused prius mode and not power focused 450h mode.

Have you considered talking to Hybrid Plus http://hybrids-plus.com/ I was giving serious thought to doing this to my Prius but I had a surprise call from my Lexus dealer about a pre-owned RX400h two years old 15,000 miles needless to say I left the Prius and took the RX I just might consider the conversion after the lease is up.
