I picked up my new GS 350 AWD on Saturday. I love it!!

While I was getting introduced to the car at the dealership the salesman used a voice command of "I'm hungry" and the nav system brought up the restraunt POIs. When I got home and read the manuals, I could not find this command shortcut at all.

Does anyone know of other shortcuts? I know I am still getting used to the voice commands but it seems to have many steps to get to a function. More shortcuts like this would make it a bit more user friendly.

They probably aren't in the manuals because the voice recognition is lousy. The only time I played with mine was in the first 2 weeks of ownership. I suspect that there is hardly anyone on this GS forum that uses theirs on a regular basis.

Its not a big deal but I thought if there were shortcuts like I'm hungry it would make the system more usable.

I agree that there are too many steps in the voice command process and already figured out that its easier to dial using my phone then messing with the voice command system.

As I said, not a big deal at all. Its a great car!!!

Same here, did not bother with the Voice Commands!!!

 

I only use the "go go oil slick, and go go reversers for extream breaking..."

 

I press my voice button in my car it laughs at me. Hawaii cars doesnt have the voice commands.

 

Well, I did try the 'I'm lonely' command and a couple of prize models appeared in the back seat. My wife did not think that was too funny!

 

I use mine all the time. My favorite commands are: "suspend guidance" , "XX degrees", "screen off", "go home", "gee you have a sexy voice".

 

I need to read more on it and actually try it out. Never had anything like this before.

 

Voice control system on the GS is a total joke! They had better voice recognition software on other brands of cars five years ago. I gave up on it a few days after buying the car...

 

My voice recognition works just fine.
