Angry Default Screen For GS W/O Nav?

OK I searched and could only find info on having the screen change back and forth to the map if you've got nav. I'm really tired of pressing the audio button everytime I get in my car; I think I find it irritating because I don't use (and don't see myself using) the info screen at all. If I missed it please someone point this out to me. Thanks

yes unfortunately that is the way it works. you can either start the car up on Info screen or on the I Agree Nav screen. the only way you can get to the audio screen after start up is to press the button after one of these 2 screens.

if you are talking about during driving, you can either turn the auto transition to the nav screen on and off, but i suspect your question was more related to the above...

But the car's without navi so...

It's just one button to push, is it that annoying?

oh i missed that part in the title that you don't have nav. sorry, i have no clue how the non-nav unit works, but i agree if it doesn't allow you to select a start up screen that is kinda annoying...

Press the info button on the top right side, then go to display settings. Turn the auto setting to off so it will stay on the last button you set until you change it.

^ agreed, but once you turn the car off and back on again, it goes back to info.

Hmm...mine stays on whatever I last left it on. When I start the car, it's on the audio screen. It's only when I have the auto setting on that it always defaults to the information screen.

edit: just went downstairs to start the car and the screen was on the audio screen that I left it at.
Did you hit the OK button after turning the auto setting to off?

I concur....you have to remember to hit the 'save' button before exiting the info screen off section. I initially found it maddening to have to figure this out also. Now every time I get in and turn the car on I see only what I want - radio or climate (still pissed 2006's have split screen display and '07s don't btw). If you go back into info you have to set the screen to display 'off' again to avoid having it crop up all the time. I never use it myself prefering the heads up dash display below the tachometer/speedometer. That's the best solution I can offer.
