Default rattles update

Getting a new 07' GS 350 this week. Should I anticipate rattling like you all have posted? Or, are these fixed now??? Thx!

i hear a few occasional squeaks from the driver side door near the side mirror. But as long as the rattles aren't coming from the dashboard, I'm fine with it. The door noises are easy to fix.

My 2007 GS350 had rattle noises from front windshield, dashboard, and back windshield.

The best way is to TURN ON THE MUSIC and ignore the rattle noises!!!

your car is too new to hear rattles. Wait a few months and 10000 miles.

I'm certainly not looking forward to that, though I was under the impression that or you got rattles from the get go, or you never got them; my wife new Mercedes GL450 for instance rattle since the very first day...

nope. things get loose over time/bumps. Almost everything is held together by plastic clips instead of screws.

it's not just or only the fact that things are held by plastic clips and not screws...it's the interference of the tolerances of the parts...some manufacturers have tight toerlances so things fit better...not sure and doubt that toyota/lexus manufacture all the parts to each of the vehicles. i'm sure some get vendered out and probably not just one vender but a few to meet the increasing demand of toyota's cars. so the variation in the capability of the manufacturers is where the "rattle" is probably coming from....some parts are a little larger, a little smaller, and what not...

that and the temperature has an effect too...i'm sure some of you probably hear more or even less depending on time of day or even seasons...

regardless, it is annoying but it is also still a nicely desgined car...i guess it is the luck of the draw when you buy...

the temp changes seem to cause the occasional popping sounds. But I'm not annoyed by them, as some are.

Whatever the reasons, I still think this is poor design implementation for a car such as a Lexus.

This is my third GS in the last year and a half and they all had rattles. Seems pathetic for such an expensive car... but if people still buy them, I guess there're not turned off by it. I find it unacceptable.

You seem to be okay with it yourself, as it is your 3rd GS !

not all of them have rattles...

and when people buy them, they wouldn't know if the car has rattles or not... it's after you own/drive it for awhile then they start coming out (if they do...)

mine dont rattle...knock on wood...but much like the engine there's a breaking in period and that's probably why we dont hear the sounds until the car, meaning the body as well as the engine, is broken in....

every manufacturers has its issues and especially on the first models...it's not that bad...still a lexus and still command respect from the guys hahaha...

My 06 GS430 just had it's 2nd birthday this week, and has about 25k miles, and has been pretty quiet all along (after I modded the windshield cowel that did make some sqeaks--but there's a TSIB so I think that means new builds have the fix).

So for last few days I've been annoyed with a rattle from the passenger side of the car, either the door or the B pillar. Pretty continuous whenever the road was a little lumpy. So today I stop the car and can find nothing loose on the door or trim, even when banging on it. Then I grab the passenger seat and with gentle pulling up and down on the seat cushion I hear a clear tapping sound. Sounds like the gap in the track, and the metal runners can hit each other. So I changed the position of the seat and the angle of the backrest, and the noise went away as I continued driving. Bliss has returned! I think the seat had just been balanced such that it took very little to tip it back and forth in the track, and changing the angle helped. I might look into it later to see if there's a better remedy.

Anyone else found this?
