Whenever I play a new DVD, I have to turn subtitles off. Is that normal for the DVD player? Is there a way to set it so it doesn't do this? If it were one button it would be ok but you have to do a 6-7 key sequence to turn it off.

 

I’m picking up mine tomorrow, will check to see if mine displays subtitles with the default settings (assuming there are settings one can change).

 

Mine does this too on the Gen 4. Not sure if there is a way to change the default settings.

 

My Gen 5 does not show subtiltles until I turn them on in the 6-7 steps. I just wish there was a way to "Play All" without engaging the emergency brake (until I do the mod).
