New GS here and have been lurking for awhile enjoying the great information provided!

A question on the Nav DVD version everyone has. I have noticed that busnisses have have been around 1-2 years are not showing up on the map. I have Ver 4.2.

Anyone have discs newer than that?

 

According to my service rep at Keyes Lexus, they are now on a schedule to release all new DVD updates for each car in January of every year. Since NavTec, the company that makes the DVD, uses phonebook info for their POI database it will usually be out-of-date the minute they publish a new DVD since phonebook info is usually old.

i don't know if the businesses or streets you are looking for will be there. just an example - i moved into a new house and neighborhood in Aug 2000 and my house and streets were not on the map until the 04 edition on our SC which we got in May 04. (the RX we bought at launch in Mar 03, and my house was not on the map then.) so that just goes to show that the map is typically about 4 years behind unfortunately
