If the fuel pumps are crazy expensive ebay has aftermarket pumps for less then $100.00

Yep its an 06, and correct first time been towed.

Just had this pop on today after filling up last night in my IS250.

Hoping it's just the gas cap, but I turn it to "click" once as the cap tells me to.

My 06 430 Check engine light came on a few weeks ago, I figured it was the gas cap but took it to the dealer anways to confirm. Cost about $90 to replace the gas cap. Grrrr It should be a TSB if all these cars are having the same problem.

you should click it 3 times. an easy way to tell if its the O ring is turn the cap till it clicks then start turning it as if your taking it off. if it only takes about 1/4 turn before you can take it off then you'll need to either get a new cap or just replace the O ring

Anyone happen to know the part number for a 2008 IS250 fuel fill cap?

Think I found it:
http://www.lexussouthatlantaparts.co...roduct=5783787

77310A 7730006040 CAP ASSEMBLY, FUEL TANK. CAP ASSY, FUEL TANK; (L)
7316 7731606070 GASKET, FUEL TANK CAP. GASKET, FUEL TANK CA

Edit*

Also, would a fuel cap from autozone or summit work? Or do I have to buy one from lexus?

*Update*

Must have been a loose gas cap. Re-tightened it, disconnected battery, reconnected, CEL gone. YAY!

Thanks, went and had my car inspected and they found the cap to be performing properly. Just didn't give it time to pass the readiness checks (DOH!). So I have 15 days to get the readiness checks to pass and go back.

yea sometimes it takes a while to cycle. if the cap isnt clicked all the way, it will eventually throw those codes/errors.

I have the lights on and I was told it was a catalytic converter issue. I'm confused. If so how bad would it be to have one bad catalytic converter??

I picked mine up from Napa for under $ 15, worked like a charm, these caps are all the same.

If you have a 2006 GS300 and you have a check engine light you may have carbon buildup issues. The carbon will clog your catalytic, ruin o2 sensors, and make your engine run like garbage.

If lexus did the carbon buildup rebuild, then you should be fine and whatever you have going on most likely it is something minor.
