My 06' got smashed
This is my first post on this board as I just traded in my 02' IS for a silver 06' GS300. I wish my first post was on a cheerful note. I got rearended while stopped for a redlight by a 16 year old girl driving her parents Suburban. The girl had her license a whopping 4 days before smacking into the back of me
As I looked at the back of my car I thought I was going to be sick. The rear end was smashed (The body shop had to hammer my trunk shut until I could get my car in). Anyways several weeks, one concussion, and about 7K in damage later, my car is supposed to be completely fixed on Friday. I received my plates from DMV in the mail today. I just stare at them while I'm rolling in a rental car (Chevy Impala, ugh). At least I'm okay and she had insurance, but it still sucks.

There is always something worst that can happen. If you own it you can always trade it in and forget it.
The first damage always is painful even if it's a rock chip but to get a major hit like that is devastating. You're right, it just makes you sick. You'll probably have stretched muscle pain for weeks.
You didn't say how long you'd had the car - I was wondering if you set a record for the shortest ownership before a major crash?

So sorry to hear that. I don't believe teenagers should be allowed to drive Suburbans or their insurance should be prohibitive. Suburban's have crappy brakes, blindspots, and are very heavy.
I hope your body shop's done a great job and you can begin to enjoy your 06 GS.
Most importantly though I hope you're physically ok after a concussion and that she is paying any of your medical bills.

I had the car about 3 weeks before the accident. No frame damage and just a few more marbles rolling around loose. The shop does all of the local high-end dealerships like Lexus/BMW/Mercedes so I'm confident it will turn out nice. They repaired my IS when that got hit (again by a teenage driver) and it turned out really nice. I'm glad I don't have teenage daughters. This girl and her friend were an emotional mess, crying and blubburing on. I had to calm them down and get them focused on what needed to be done, they had no idea what to do. Man drivers ed should be twice as long.
