Outside window trim need help

My chrome window trim is starting to accumulate some type of brown substance and is sticking on to it. Has this problem occured on anyone else? How did yall fix it?

Obviously it’s not real chrome, it’s plastic with chrome foil or something and the clear coating can deteriorate and look shitty, itts pretty easy to replace it with new trim if it is bothering you. Are you talking about the piece along the bottom of the glass? Or the upper section?
