2007 GS350 NAV Update
Hello,
I own a 2007 GS350 that was imported from Japan. I'm curious how simple it is to update the NAV maps. I looked in the glove box, boot, and so on and found no DVD player for the NAV. There is a Japanese ETC (electronic toll collection system) instead of the usual DVD player in the glove box. I used Google Translate to navigate the menu screen and discovered the map update function. When I clicked on map update, it stated I needed to plug in an update tool or something. This Japanese import appears to different; does anyone have experience with these?

I think you will need the multi-function display from a local car. Hopefully, you should be able to source a used or salvage yard one. OEM new ones are prohibitively expensive. I replaced mine for around $250 when the digitizer crapped out.
