After selling my IS-F I drove my F10 535 for another year, and during that time bought and sold a 2008 GX470, getting in a car accident in my 2019 GX460, and replacing it with a 20 GX, and last year being tough in general, I stopped reading/posting on ClubLexus. Well, that all changes today as I am here to post about the beautiful 2nd Gen. I purchased yesterday.
After selling my one-owner, 3rd gen few months ago, I was getting an itch to acquire an old school Lexus, and although I have never owned a 2nd Gen GS before, my heart kept telling me that I needed one in my life. After seeing James car, and after back and forth messages for almost two weeks I decided to fly out to VA, and picking up this masterpiece. I am really shocked that noone else snagged it before I did because it sat here for good while.
Well, enough of talking and let's see some pictures.
I didn't piece it all together until seeing the exterior photos and then re-reading your second paragraph, but I knew that car looked very familiar. I wasn't aware that James had it up for sale. It's a very clean car and he got those rare OZ Salina L-Tuned wheels as new old stock less than a year ago it feels like.

Yep! They were free of imperfections, and wrapped in almost new Michelins. Car is overall in great shape, and has the right amount of mods; hopefully I am not going to get bored with it anytime soon. Also, James had all fluids replaced.

It is a super clean car. You don't see seats and interior like that in a 2nd gen anymore. It's one take care of for sure.
For sure! First thing I did when I got home was to clean, and condition the interior, and was shocked not to find any trash under the seats. I removed the new floor mats that James had installed in the car, and put the old mats back in. Except for few dings, paint is in exceptional condition and leather has minimal wear. Just in the last 5 years I have bought and sold over 20 cars and never once I came across any owners who were as meticulous as James.
Nice pick-up! It’s good to know this car will is staying in the CL family. If your thinking about doing a lot of mods to her, make sure to start a thread in the build section, so we can follow along. It sure looks like an excellent starting place, if you are thinking about doing some comprehensive upgrades.

QUOTEIt already has some nice upgrades....I have an RCF, and KTM if I am really in the mood for something fast. So, for now I am going to get her titled and registered, and get PDR done. From there it is going to my detailer for ceramic coating, and that should do it.
I saw this for sale and wanted it so bad. It looks incredible and it’s extremely clean. Pretty much the ideal GS430.
It is very nice, and probably the only used car I have purchased that doesn't need anything. It has new tires, new wheels, new radiator, timing belt service done, new alternator, engine, and motor mounts, Tanabe Medallion catback (highly recommended), Bilstein HD shocks, Eibach Pro lowering springs, strut brace, sway bars and alot of suspension work that is listed in the original F.S ad etc.
Glad you're enjoying the car! I'm thrilled it was able to go to a good home and fellow CL member. No offense intended for the good folks who make some amazing builds here, but I really didn't want this one to fall into the VIP crowd; plenty of them already out there.
Should have chatted more with you about how you like that RC-F, because the new IS500 announcement has me looking hard at keeping things in the Lexus family for my next car.

Hi James:
RCF is an amazing car, and from the reviews that are coming in on the IS500, it is a great daily driver but with some compromises- transmission tuning, smaller brakes etc. But with new infotainment screen, and NA power it is not a bad deal around $56k.
However, my eyes are on the Lotus Emira; and what a beautiful car it is. I will sell my RCF for an Emira in a heartbeat.
