I've had issues with my gauges being to dim for a while but now after I've been driving for a bit they will just shut off.
When I turn the car back on they are illuminated & may or may not shut back off?
Anyone else have this kind of issue?
Thanks Y'all
If the switch functions then I guess more trouble shooting is necessary. When I saw a switch go bad it was turned down low and would short out but sounds like it’s not your issue.
I think this was a problem more so in the 98-00 model years, does you Lexus fall into this category? I believe there is a reset procedure from what I read awhile ago where people would disconnect the battery for awhile in order to reset the computer.
The switch does function when I adjust it on the radio/heater control.I have a 2000 so I'll try the battery trick.I was thinking of taking out the cluster & maybe run a heat gun on the bulbs or whatever?

New guy here. May I ask, what, precisely, is the battery trick?
Yes it is on the driverside. At night (or in a dark garage) you can try to test it by shining a flashlight on it for a few seconds and see if the instrument cluster brightens or dims automatically.
