Can gauge cluster auto dimming be disabled?
anyone know if this is possible? It happens when I drive under a bridge and is kind of annoying, not seatbelt alarm annoying, but annoying nonetheless...
thanks

What position is the headlight switch on? If it's in the off position, the auto dimming shouldn't occur.
If you have it either @ the first position or the second (HID) position, it will dim when it gets dark.
Another way to deactivate it is to just turn the **** that controls the brightness all the way clockwise until you get a click.
That's what I can think of.

pretty sure they're in the off position when this happens. When the headlights are off the whole cluster is much brighter so I notice when it dims passing under bridges...
When the lights are on the whole cluster goes dimmer so its not an issue.

I actually notice that too and does that if the brightness **** is not clicked to maximum.
Solution - turn it until it clicks then you get maximum all the time regardless of headlight switch settings.
I actually complained to a family member who uses my car if needed do not touch the settings because he sets it dim, when I have it at maximum - reason is oh it's too bright, so I put it down. Putting it high makes the cluster burn out faster (lol non-sense, it's LED!!). Under my hint of advise - if you touch them, set them back to the way it was when I use the car - if is not set back to the way it was when I use the car - you're not driving it again.

Inversely I put tape over my light sensor to make mine stay dim all the time.
I set my lights to auto and the dimmer as low as it can go.

If you have the navigation system, realize that when the instrument dimmer is clicked to maximum brightness, the navigation screen will stay in "day mode" with a white background at all times, rather than switching to a black background at night.

oh I did that already, was just using it to better illustrate the degree of annoyance I was experiencing...
gauge cluster dimming (ok not my idea of a neat feature but I can live with it...)
seatbelt alarm (OMG kill me now already!)

i just went to check and there were only these options: top right corner turn off and bottom brightness and contrast. do i have to see this option at night only?? or am i missing something here? its still day time here so the dash wont dim yet.
