I just got dummied into buying four 245-45-17 Michelin XGT Z4 tires with tire protection at NTB. $1200...damn could have bought some rims with tires. I thought Michelins were a good buy from reading the forums...now I see that the new Bridgestones look good.
You just bought some awesome tires, albeit, not at the best price. The Bridgestones won't even make it 15K miles. You won't be sorry about your purchase.
Thanks for the info fever,
I should have done some more research but I had 2 nails in my rear tires that they say it can't be fixed + a nail in my spare! Maybe for another G or so I could have bought some 18's. Looking at the bright side...things could have been worse.
I forgot to mention that if you didn't know NTB will rotate your tires for free anytime and with your warranty you pick up a nail you get a free tire. Not bad.
$1200 is not too bad although you could've gotten them cheaper if you looked hard enough. i paid $850 for the same tire in 245/40/18. on the bright side, you do get a lifetime balance and rotation with the tires
Well, the bad news is you probably ended up paying too much at NTB.
The good news is:
1. You got a good tire.
2. NTB has a price protection policy and will match (PLUS some % of the difference) the best price you can get on the same tire, even from an on-line source (NTB will figure the shipping you'd pay buying on-line into the price).
My advice is go to tire rack (www.tirerack.com) or any other source you want to get a price from, get their price in writing and present it to NTB with your NTB bill. They'll do a price match and you'll get money back.
