I'm in the process of doing a folding mirror swap and picked up a set of USDM mirrors to use the wiring and dimmed mirrors and they're in a 1 piece housing. The mirror adjustment on these appears to screw right into the JDM folding assembly and includes the memory wires which the JDM part doesn't appear to have. Has anyone seen 1 piece US mirrors like this before? All of the guides I've seen show the USDM mirrors as 2 piece. I just thought this was cool and I didn't know about it

Nope its definitely for the 2GS. I can post another picture with this mirror next to a JDM mirror. Its definitely the same

Are you referring to the cover itself?

 

The pre and post facelifts has a different cover. The pre 01 facelifts are 2 pieces while post 01 are 1 piece. At least they are this way here in Taiwan.

 

The cover of the mirror yes. I was under the impression from all of the folding mirror guides that the USDM mirrors were all 2 piece and the internals were different. I didn't know that the pre-facelift mirrors were 1 piece and have the same mechanism as the JDM folding ones.

 

I know for a fact mine and other that are in the 98-00 range are all one piece......the newer models i believe are the 2 piece.
