110k of the HARDEST driven miles any Lexus has EVER seen. Ask VVTi, no problems.

Check for the radio display, struts ( make sure it's not leaking ), check tires & brakes, moisture in the headlights, and the drive belt if not done with the timing belt. One other thing, make sure that the wide pipe to the mufflers are not bent and check for pulsations when driving.

GS400' s are really reliable cars and you really do get your money's worth. I have close to 80k and still have no problems yet with the vehicle - knock on wood.

Well, I would look and make sure the car was MAINTAINED. Unfortunately, some people just neglect it cause they know they are not keeping the car. Make sure that oil was changed every 5k.

I would take it to a dealer or mechanic I know and have them inspect the car before I buy it.

78K here and only TPS sensor and O2 sensors replaced. Plus the dreaded fogged headlights that eveyone is having a problem with.

122K miles on GS400. Starting to develop some creaks and rattles, but otherwise pretty dang reliable. Regular service maintenence is all she needs.

84k on a 98 and the only thing I've had a problem with is the steering wheel movement motors (taking it in tonight actually). It might be the extreme heat here in AZ though. I religiously have the scheduled maintenance done, and keep the interior immaculate.

84k on 99 GS 300. Motor on steering column replaced-before 60k. Starter and accelerator thingy replaced at dealer. Must have been one of the few lemon. That's it, no engine or tranny problem!
