Common problem on the 2GS and usually points to warped rotors. At least that’s what it was for me. Over the years I’ve tried everything even going as far as straightening the rims out to no avail. Get fresh rotors, rotate and balance and see if that helps.

Warped rotors can cause problems at both high and low speeds. When braking you’ll feel a pulsating feeling, at highways speeds a vibration. It may seem to lessen or go away around 80 mph. Trust me I know. Been dealing with this since 2000 lol. There is still a shimmy but I’ve learned to live with it.

Also, how are your ball joints? If it’s been a while since your last rotate and balance have that done, too.

I have been unsuccessful in getting my vibrations (usually 70+) to go away as well, despite many parts thrown at it. It's not bad nor felt through the car, but is noticeable in the wheel. Like others have said, if not braking I don't see how it could point to rotors... this is constant, usually. On just the right day on the right sort of asphalt it's not present. But usually it is. I'm even wondering if it's in the rack or even shaft somewhere...

Have you guys tried wheel hub bearings?

I've replaced all the parts listed in post 27: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sus...verhaul-2.html

Plus steering rack bushings, front wheel bearings and new pads/rotors. I even did the zip tie method for good measure and have absolutely no shakes on my 1998 GS400 with 157k miles on it. *Knock on wood*
