Default Need Advice!!

I have a 2001 GS 300 that I just found out needs a new transmission shaft. Its gonna cost about $1600 to fix. I paid $2600 for the car and I had hopes to resale it. Is it worth fixing and trying to resale still or just keeping it or do nothing and try to sell it as a fixer or for parts?

Depends on the miles, but I might get a second opinion. As far as I know the transmissions on these vehicles are bulletproof; I had my transmission fluid changed at 100,000 miles a few years ago and haven't touched it since. If you do indeed need a new transmission shaft I would find someone to do it for less than $1,600.
