Wassup guys, new member here, the names Darith. Currently in the market for 2G GS300/400, was wondering if there's anything i should look out for when buying one. Read around that the gs400 models are worth buying over the 300s ones due to lack of power in a big body car. Other than that, are there any known problems that I should know about? Thanks in advance!

These cars are pretty bulletproof as long as the maintenance has been done. I have a GS400 myself and love the V8, although some have the GS300 and are happy with the car as well. You can't go wrong with either one. If it were me, I would look for one that was well taken care of and had the timing belt/water pump service done.

Welcome to Club Lexus

I highly recommend taking a peak at our FAQ thread:

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-...iy-thread.html

Specifically section 2, "Selecting the right 2nd generation GS for you" which differentiates the models:

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-...-analysis.html

this one focuses more on the difference between the 400 and 430 since the 300 has the obvious difference.

youre right on the bulletproof, these things are built to last. came from a family of lexus, grew up with both parents having mutliple ls400s and those things were pushed. i remember my moms ls400 was almost near 400k and still running like it was straight out the dealership
