Default AC stopped working overnight

Hey guys, I have an 02 GS430 with 350k on the clock, as far as I know the AC has never been serviced or recharged. I've owned the car for a little over 2 years now and have never had a problem with the AC but today no dice. I've left the car parked for a month before, not used the AC all winter, etc but it's always kicked on strong. Today I got in the car and surprise, no cold air. I tried hitting taking it off of auto and manually playing with everything to see if it worked, no luck. When I push the AC button the idle still bumps for a moment so I assume the compressor is still kicking on but it just blows warm air.

There was no warning that this was coming, yesterday it blew ice cold, today it blows warm air. Has anyone on here had this problem? Thanks!

Check that the compressor is engaging via its clutch. No compressor clutch engagement = no A/C. Check for blown fuses. But the fuse avenue is highly unlikely. You need to start by attaching gauges and checking the high and low side pressure. A set of gauges is cheap compared to the wallet rape you will experience if you fall into the hands of a dishonest a/c repair buss. You need to know what the pressures are before you dive into this mx. If your lacking in know how find a substantiated honest shop or you could be in for a potential expensive excursion. It's an old car even with a minuscule leak it could just be low on refrigerant which will trigger the low pressure sensor. If you don't acquire a set of a/c gauges or have a friend check the pressures you can try adding some r134a if the a/c compressor clutch isn't engaging. Be very aware that more is not better above the stated capacity. Walmart sells straight r134a. Don't buy the r134a with stop leak or leak dye. Buy straight 134a and charge a little at a time. I'm not sure of the low pressure cutoff point on the system. I believe the system capacity is 23 oz +~ an 1 ounce. Your car has a sticker under the hood which states the charge amount. You really need a set of gauges to start the troubleshooting and know how hvac auto systems works. Lexus has an additional computer/ ecu complexity which was. ahead of its time in early 2000's to add another complication to some troubleshooting. A Techstream scan will help to start out also.
