Default Cigarette Lighters Not Working

Howdy,

So for quite some time both of my cigarette lighters have not been working. I've checked the fuses and they were never blown and decided to replace them anyway, but they still don't work. The one next to my ashtray and gear shifter doesn't want to work, even though the green light that shines when my headlights are on still works. Also, the one located in my armrest doesn't want to work either. I haven't found a thread on this issue so hopefully someone has a solution.

Thanks yall!

It's strange that both don't work. However, the front ashtray CL going out is very common. There was a recall on this from what I remember and it turns out the actual CL port has a pin "don't remember the exact part" that goes out. Best bet is to buy another ashtray from a junkyard or ebay.

There is a fusible link in each outlet. You will have to take the ashtray out to access it, and remove the center console wood piece to remove the other one. You can pop it out through the center console cubby but you might scratch the felt, and notice you'll have to take the wood piece out to plug the connector back on anyways. You'll have to strip the small (3-4mm) piece of insulation on the fusible link to see if it is broke. Some people replace them, and others just take out the insulating washer separating each side of the fusible link. If they are good, you might have dirty connections in the sockets themselves. You can first remove the fuses to prevent shorts, and scratching inside the bottom socket assembly where you plug in devices to clean the contacts. Here is a pic below:
