The acc outlet/cig lighter in my 06 gs430 has stopped working. The fuse looks fine. I know a some of you have had this problem but a search turned up nothing. I cant find out how to get the thing out of there. Help a brother out. My 8500 wont work

 

Don't know if just removing the ashtray will be enough. The first few pics in this thread show how to pull up the center console. It's pretty easy to do, just pull gently!

Nice writeup! Made me consider doing my own install when my vais arrives.

Does the whole center console really have to come apart like that just for the cig lighter though?

I read how some people mod the outlet to supply constant power instead of only when in acc so they can charge cell phones ect. when the car is off. I think that would come in pretty handy.

Anyone done this before that wants to chime in?

 

if you want to access the cigarette lighter, taking out the shift plate will gain you the access
