Default Strange "Cricket" Noise

Howdy folks,

So I've been having this issue as of late in which my car makes this almost "cricket" like noise when my car is stopped. When I accelerate it goes away, but as soon as I let off the gas or completely stop it comes right back up. It has nothing to do with A/C because whether the A/C is turned on or off, the noise keeps coming back. If I had to pinpoint a location, it seems to be coming from the passenger side somewhere in the hood. This is not a dangerous problem (at least to my knowledge) and is honestly more of a nuisance. i haven't found anyone having the same issue as me so I apologize if this is a common fix even though I have searched till the ends of the earth for a solution.

I will try and get a video showcasing what it sounds like and where it seems to be coming from very soon.

Thanks yall!

Wonder if it's a squeaky belt or pulley. If you have a spray bottle, try spraying some water on the belt while it's running to see if the noise goes away.

Here is a video I shot showing exactly what it sounds like and how damn loud it is.

Possibly a pulley. Get a long hose and put one end to your ear and point the other side around the engine bay until you can narrow down exactly where its coming from (pulley or not).

You could also just remove the belt and start the car and see if it goes away.
