Trunk won't open
Hello I have a 2004 GS430. The trunk won't open manuallly, or from the master key. I've tried the button beside the steering wheel for valet parking. I can hear the trunk unlatch but won't open.i believe electronically it works. Any suggestions?

Stop double posting, for one.
I am pretty sure the solution will entail getting TO the latch. You will need to get the rear setbacks off and (unless you are a twig) the back crossmember off so you can actually get in the trunk.

Ever been rear ended?
Try this: As you turn the key to open, press down and pull up at the same time (yes, sounds kinda weird). Basically, turn the key and press downward over and over (basically bounce) up and down with your hand and see if it will open. Its possible that things got bent to where the latch isnt completely disengaging when you use the key or the button.

I have a similar problem. My master key will not turn in the trunk lock. Works fine in all the other key slots including glove box and valet lock at the bottom of dash on the drivers side.
My trunk will open fine with the remote button or the dash trunk latch.
My guess is that the lock mechanism has corroded internally and has seized up. This happened to my old Camry. I was able to eventually free everything up in the Camry lock by using lots of penetrating oil and continuous jiggling with the key in lock. I plan to try this out on the GS once the weather improves around here.
