So, I haven’t been on here in awhile, and have since departed with my cd009 kit, and went t56.
I can answer questions, and write a comprehensive what’s needed in a 6spd swap, the work required in doing so if you guys would like?

GS 6spd Swap
Things required
Master Cylinder: Stock 5/8’s SC300/ 93-98 Supra clutch master cylinder will suffice for stock to mild clutches. Slave Cylinder will depend on trans, if CD8/9 you’ll get a Nissan 350z/G35 slave, and run a 3an braided line from the master cylinder to the slave. If using w58, r154, v160/161 you’ll use stock slave, or any updated stock variations available. If using T56 magnum, Tilton makes an adjustable HRB, Hydraulic Release Bearing.
Clutch, Flywheel that is appropriate to your trans of choice. If going W58, R154, V160/161, also T56 Magnum you can use a standard 2JZ clutch, flywheel setup. If going with the CD008/9 trans, your flywheel will be different depending if you keep the CD8/9 bell housing, if so, you’ll need a flywheel setup for that trans type to 2JZ. If you go CD8/9, and get the kit where you can use a A340e trans bell housing you can then use a 2JZ clutch, flywheel. Of course the proper clutch alignment tool.
Clutch, and Brake Pedal, you can use either ‘93-‘98 Supra, SC300, or ‘01-‘05 IS300 Manual Pedal Sets Only.
Driveshaft
You’ll be converting to a 1-Piece Driveshaft, just ensure the yoke is proper for the specific transmission you’ll desire to use. You’ll also need an adapter to bolt the 1-Piece to the stock GS/IS Rear Differential. These are easily found on various pages, Colins Adapters, Grannas, various places.
You’ll have to provide DSS (Drive Shaft Shop), or your local Driveshaft shop the proper measurements needed for your setup. Keep in mind the differential adapter plate, accounting for it’s length, or thickness so you don’t have a shaft that is too long. DSS only needs the trans being used, or yoke type needed, length from
output shaft to the 3-Prongs on the diff, and adapter/differential type, they’ll send you everything needed.
Wiring
You’ll need to jumper, or bypass the neutral safety switch.
The speedometer will not work for the CD8/9 swaps, so you’ll have to use a gps speedo, or Dakota digital speedometer kit. I personally have a gps speedo.
Trans Tunnel Modifications
The only modifications needed are if you’re using the CD8/9 bell housing. You’ll have to beat, widen the tunnel in a couple of areas for decent fitment. Going with cutting the CD8/9 bell housing, and getting the A340e adapter to enable you to use the bell housing is the better way to go. Go beating, widening necessary. *IMPORTANT* If you keep the CD8/9 bell housing, it will require you to pull the motor, drop the subframe to pull, install the trans, period. I’ve had to do it twice. All other trans options fit like stock.
Any questions, ask away, I’ll do my best to answer.

Thats my plan. Did you use the swap kit from Grannas Racing to install the T56 for your install and what flywheel, clutch, and release bearing did you use? Also can you give a ballpark of how much this swap cost? From my math it seems like its around $10k if you buy all new parts. I'd be all over this if it was cheaper. I really want to do this since the auto kills so much fun.

I still plan on doing the CD009/A swap. Thanks for all the info. My GS came as a roller, but the last owner already did most of the work for me. It was running a V160 so it already has the clutch pedal and master cylinder. I just have to get the transmission.
