If you have aftermarket tail lights that's a common issue. The resistors suck. My light randomly comes on all the time

You can remove the bulb or you can disconnect the wire that sends that signal.

In the trunk under the driver side fender carpet theres a module that you can remove the wire. Heres the module:

Have you checked your third brake light? One of the bulbs in it being dead will trigger the light-out warning but the assembly in general will still function.

How do you release the pin? I jammed a tip cleaner down there but cannot get anything to release.

Don't assume that a bulb isnt out. Make sure you really check each bulb back there, I found out the hard way.

Another way is take the bulb out of the dash or black electrical tape to cover it

DON'T USE THE RESISTORS THAT RUN WITH THE AFTERMARKET TAIL LIGHTS.

They can become very hot and potentially dangerous.

Yea, I am going to take the resisters off when I get that light to go off.
I do not want to cut that wire, but I still cannot get the harness to let go of that pin.

AmanO,

You need a very small flat screwdriver to make sure fit inside the plastic plug inside the terminal. The wire terminal have a very small pin that keep it inside the plug. You need to separate or push that pin from the plastic plug and then pull the wire out.. Try that

Just installed my new LED tails. I'll probably just pull the bulb since that seems easier than dealing with unscrewing the module and poking around in the trunk.
