As an owner of a GS300, I am all too familiar with the dreaded ETCS failures. My Acceleration Pedal Position Sensor is bad, and I have been trying to contact Lexus of Austin to get my car repaired free of charge.
This shouldn't be news to Lexus of Austin. This has been an on-going settlement that expires next month. August 7th, 2016 to be exact. I have had no success trying to work with my area Lexus dealer, because they continuously try to assure me that this settlement doesn't exist. As far as they know, my car had no recall either.
With that said, I'm going to be contacting Lexus directly (per grouchy Service Manager at L. of A.'s advice) after work.
Those of you that have used this settlement to your advantage and were able to successfully get a repair on your vehicle, any advice?
I would also like to add that this should be publicized more in this forum. I've seen a few people losing their ETCS to defects lately and it is important for them to know that this expires very soon.
Wheres the proof that this suit exists? Can you post a link please? I only know of 1 suit and it was paid out a few years ago. Never heard of an APPS suit, its not a safety issue at all, so I see no reason to make a recall. Mine went out, I replaced it in 15 minutes and got back on the road...

I'm sure we are talking about the same Sudden Acceleration Class Action Settlement. After this settlement, a Consumer Satisfaction Program was put into action and is supposed to allow you to have any Lexus vehicle model year 2001-2010 equipped with ETCS serviced for faulty ETCS equipment. This has been around this forum many times, and I'm worried that I'm not the only person trying to get my car serviced before the August deadline.
It was a settlement and people got paid. It had nothing to do with taking it in to be repaired. I assume you just bought your car? Everyone got a check for like $25 bucks and a sorry notice. If you're not the original owner or owner during the settlement, you wouldn't get anything for it. and again, pretty certain it wasnt for the APPS. Not trying to be rude, but it seems you're looking for a free repair. Would you have posted this or gone to the dealer if it hadnt gone bad? just saying...
