Default Adding AUX port

So I have been reading and reading and reading on this but cant figure out my question. Is there a method that allows me to add a AUX port that wont override the radio? Im trying to install the AUX port and have it connected to a bluetooth module. From what I understand if you want to listen to the radio you have to unplug the AUX port. I dont mind it overriding cassette or cd but gotta have the radio. This is for my father and he still listens to radio talk shows (old people wtf lol). Trying to see if there is a way to add the AUX without him having to unplug and plug the AUX all the time. This is for a 2000 GS400 with navigation.

Here you go, this one uses the tape deck, if you have one in the navigation unit, procedure should be similar if you can access the heads of the cassette reader before it goes to the equalizer:

Thank you senior for that badass tutorial. I actually just saw that and posted a question, this simply takes over tape but not radio?

I installed a GROM unit. Plug and play installation, doesn't sacrifice any of the factory features.

This might be a dumb question, but it's the first thing I thought while watching the video. What makes this different than one of these?

Tape has a hiss and is of inferior quality compared to direct input.

I get that, but if it's using the tape deck's circuitry, wouldn't it be the same quality as a tape?

I like the tape mod but I was wondering if there is anyway to do this on the CD side of things? Tap into the input side and use a blank cd? I know there is a similar mod out but that overrides all inputs so you have to unplug the AUX

EDIT:

I think I might have found the solution that will work best for me

The CD interrupt mod is the way I went, and it sounds perfect to me. Depending on where you are in NM I could show you how I did it, or help you install it.

Thanks for the offer fellow NMexican. Which mod is the CD interrupt? Is that the relay one? Or the one with the 5 pole aux jack going directly into wires?

I just got a used 2004 ES 330 and I am tempting to replace the factory stereo with an aftermarket.
Has anyone try this?

You posted in the wrong thread. you have an ES and this is GS. Regarding the equipment it should work but you will likely lose your factory amplifier which will mean your speakers will be powered by the headunit (theoretically less power) and your subwoofer wont work.

Regarding this thread, I got something cooking up. If it works I will outline each part needed. This will IMO be the cleanest install with no stereo splicing.

Thank you. I just noticed I posted in the wrong place :-)

Re: aftermarket stereo mentioned above, CF guaranteed the adapter will keep/work with the factory integrated amp. http://www.crutchfield.com/p_120TYTO...Interface.html

Will see.

for anyone that is thinking about adding a AUX input for their GS this is how I did mine with a few pictures (post 175).

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-...ensive-12.html

It's a very clean install and it looks factory when I finished installing it. This was also done by tapping into the CD changer wiring harness and having a disc play with nothing on it so when i have that disc playing, the AUX input will play over it.
