Default Power trunk release not working....

So recently my interior power trunk release stopped working. The one on the key still works.
Has anyone dealt with this yet?

Thanks

First, check your fuses to see if one is out and if all your fuse are good check the contact wires plug on the release motor. Also, you can try WD40 to see what happen on the switch to see what happen?? If check all and all are good, your release motor are gone.

Contact wires and fuse will be fine since the trunk still operates it.

Please DO NOT EVER spray WD40 on your electrical swtiches!!!

You can get some electrical contact cleaner to fix up the switch.

Personally, the first thing i would do would be to remove the switch, disassemble it (if possible) and clean up the contacts (use sandpaper or electrical contact cleaner). Look out for any broken solder joints (if so, re-solder them). Typically on Toyota's/Lexus's, the simple fix is usually the correct fix. I had the same issue on my rear window defrost button and fixed it rather quickly. The switch may also have been unplugged - check that first!

When I said WD40 on the switch is where the lock switch close and open to release the trunk. No inside of the motor switch. Just to clarify what I try to say. I personally I use the WD40 in that area and that plastic part start work 100% better. That is my experience. I hope and you can found what ever the problem that you have with that motor switch and fix it sooner.

GregCanada,
Sorry but I do not understand you?? On your first comment you say that the contact wire and fuse will be fine sice the trunk still operate it. And your last comment you say, may also have been unplugged. Sorry again, but for me that no make any sense?

You can open you truck with your key and the internal motor open switch be bad?

Also, bstarr 34,
you inadvertently you have activated the button of the valet parking that is on your dash and that makes you to not open the trunk with the beeper. Use your regular key and turn off the switch and see if the trunk open this time. Good luck and God bless U. .

MCON - he says the switch up front is not working. That is why i say it may be unplugged. He says the trunk release works fine from the key FOB. That is why i'm thinking there is something wrong with the switch.

Default re: Trunk release

The trunk release inside the car stopped working after I locked my keys in the trunk with the car locked. I had AAA break into the car. The alarm went off....

I think the release stopped working after that. I don't think there is something wrong with the car.
I think it's a reset of some sort.....IMO.

Thanks for all your help guys.
