Default got my first gs

I just got my first lexus. A long time in the waiting. Its a black with tan gs430 with 121000 miles.
The previous owner said the only issue with the car was the keyless entry. He changed the battery and it still wouldn't work. Any ideas of what it could be?

Probably door lock actuators! There are several diy threads on here. The search feature is your friend! Also, welcome to the club!

If your doors lock/unlock using the inside power lock switch then it's not the actuators. Look up key programming and follow the directions for programming the keyless entry.

Just figured I'd do a little thread hijacking :P my keyless remote works, but the battery is pretty bad on it, however the boot / trunk button doesn't do anything on the car end. The light on the remote lights up, so it's sending the signal though.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the new car. As tmf2004 said, get onto the DIY page as there is a lot of information on there to not only give you ideas for your GS, but great DIY's on how to save a bit of money on maintenance and repairs.

So when i posted this, the car wasnt in my possession. I had my brother go oick it up a few hundred miles away. What i found when i go in the car was, not only does the fob not unlock the doors, the lock buttons on the inside dont work either. I checked the fuse, it was good. WHat else could it be? There a relay somewhere maybe?

Sounds like a classic case of bad door lock actuators. It happens to most of us. Here are the DIY links:

Might be a daft suggestion but are you holding the trunk release button for a few seconds? I thought mine didn't work until I read you have to hold it for a few seconds then the trunk pops...
