Default headlight info about a swap

So i purchased a gs430 with auto level factory hid. The headlights are in rough shape and im looking into a replacement. Now my question is, the replacements for oem hid are steep, is there a way to install halogen headlights? My main question is, i know i will lose autolevel which is not a big deal, ill pull the bulb out on the dash, but at the harness, can the plug for the oem ballest be tapped/swapped for the 9006 halogen plug? The halogen headlights are about half the price, so im just trying to make sure the plug at the ballast can be tapped into and use a 9006 plug. Any other issues i may come into with also?

Thanks

Wait... r u saying you are buying halogen headlights and putting a hid kit in that, or buying halogen bulbs and putting them in your hid headlights? Are your headlights in bad shape or your bulbs? HID bulbs will last easily 2 times longer than halogen bulbs which makes cost more in favor of HID bulbs imo.

If you have hid headlights you should run hid bulbs.

if you want to go from stock D2 to amp (9006) you will need D2-to-AMP harnesses

that being said if you have factory HID i'd just stay with the HID setup

please do not put some random HID kit into headlamps for 9006/without the factory HID setup or projectors.

What do you mean "The headlights are in rough shape..."? Are they just oxidized? Or badly damaged?

I'm fairly sure on sewell the headlight units are not much more for the hid compared to halogen, I'm buying a new oem set off there (halogen) and it's gonna be 500$, I think the HIDs were only like 50$ more or something like that

That's about right... I paid around $5-550/shipped from NYCAutoparts on ebay for a brand new pair.
