Cool Car Pulls To Different Directions....

As i am driving i notice with the windows down a slight tire squeal from my front right tire. Also when i hit bumps in the road sometimes my car will pull to the right or left and i have to force the wheel back to straight. Do you think it may be a cv joint or bearing issue? i already had it aligned. also i mgoing to take out my starter and thought i found a thread here where it was step by step for my car and had arrows pointing to the bolts needed to be removed. thx in advance.

Sounds like a loose or bad tie-rod end? If it hits a bump and you have to straight the car out again, could also be possible the steering box? No idea how it is setup on our GS but worth investigating. Next time you hit a bump, if you're in a safe place, get out and look at the wheels before you straighten back out. If they're both pointed in the same direction then it's 1 problem, if one of them is 'off' then possible a tie rod end or something along those lines (steering knuckle/hub/whatever this car has).

thing is i just changed the front lower ball joints and tire rods in the front. Then had it aligned. Ihave seen others say that these cars have something that when you turn the steering wheel it gives to much play and that part needs to be replaced but this feels like only 1 tire doing it. thx for the advice, once I get my starter changed (hopefully only reason it isnt starting now) Ill check it out.

No idea here but what about steering rack bushings?

Also, on my Land Cruiser the steering box parts wear out and it causes slack right at the input even if the rod ends and everything else is tight. If you have a worn steering rack/pinion or some sort of part that far up that is bad, it'll show as slack overall, not just 1 wheel assuming all your rod ends and bearings are good.

a mechanic friend of mine said i would need a new rack-npinion steering eventually, i changed the tire rods and lower ball joints. the steering bushing i saw that my year does need to be replaced but the play isnt that bad and unless im under the car with stuff removed it is a little hassle to switch out.

Along the lines of the previous reply, how old/worn are the tires? One of my early posts on this forum was about my GS wanting to go either left or right, and me having to fight the steering wheel all the time. A lot of replies suggested that the GS's are very susceptible to tramlining, which is the effect I was feeling. In my case, putting on a new set of tires completely cured the problem. Just a thought, start with the easy stuff first.
