Default newbie with quick question

hey everybody! this is my first post and i hope it should be a easy one! I have a 99 GS300 completely stock but i've been reading and getting some great ideas! thanks to you CLers. My question is, are the side markers supposed to light up at anytime? or are they just supposed to be a orange reflector? I thought they should light up with my parking lights but my doesn't. I haven't really noticed other GSs too. Thanks, have a great new years!

Yes, they should light up but do not flash with the turn signals like they should in my opinion. Anyway, your foglights pop out with ease after removing two phillips screws. Reach inside and remove the two 10mm nuts with a socket and the lamp/lense pops out from the bumper. Remove the bulb socket from the lense and there you go. They take clear 194 wedge bulbs or amber wedge bulbs if you have the clear sidemarkers like alot of us. It is very very easy to do yourself.

Ishinc, first off I'd like to welcome you to the one and only
ClubLexus... If you just want to change your bulbs there's no need for the removal of the 10mm nuts that hold in the side-markers.. Just reach your hand in there and turn the harness till it unlocks and pull it out... But if your replacing the the side-markers then you'll need to get those 10mm nuts out.. Hehehe, I said nuts....

hey! thanks alot, i have a good feeling that i'm gonna love this forum even more. Since the sidemarkers have never turned on before, at least i've never seen them on, i'm thinking it's the fuse or lex forgot to put bulbs? Anyhow, i'm gonna check tomorrow morning and see how it goes, btw do you know which and where the fuse is? THANKS

The only reason I think it is a good idea to pull the whole lense is so you don't have to touch the bulbs with your hands. They will last longer if you refrain from touching them. The whole process should take no longer than 15 mins.

Make sure you're not thinking they should be on with the daytime running lights as opposed to the parking lights. You can turn on just the parking lights (and the side lights should then be on) by turning the light stalk one click.

You know what I always found that works are Laytex gloves.. That way you never have to worry about your body oils touching any part of the bulb.....
