Is chrome Lexus badge on steering wheel a Sport Design feature? Do both GS300 and 400/430 have them?

Noticed I have this and a lot of folks in 2gs don't.

 

If i'm not mistaken. ALL GS models from 2001-present have a chrome lexus badge on the steering wheel

 

He's right. ALL 01+ models come with the chrome "L" on the steering wheel.

 

So can you purchase the middle portion with this on it for a '00 and if so where? I feel as though that is sorely missing on mine, would just finish off the factory steering well so well.

 

Do what I did on my 98 and get a chrome steering wheel emblem and gorilla glue it on, almost an Identicle fit, cost $6 for an emblem and looks amazing....

 

$6 bux? i can dig that. Sewell or eBay? or...

I got one off of eBay that fits pretty well. Just measure the logo on the wheel and find the closest one you can.

That "middle portion" is your airbag. You would have to replace the airbag on your car if you want the '01+ emblem. I've never researched this but I do know that the steering wheel design on the earlier cars is different and I don't think the airbags are interchangeable. That said, you can probably swap an entire '01+ steering wheel onto your car with very little effort.

This might be your best bet. It looks good, judging from the photos posted, and it's the most pain-free solution.

 

Got mine off ebay but I wouldn't dare glue it on. The 3M tape worked fine for me. Unplug the horn fuse or just be very gentle with it

 

Guys name was like nycautoparts or something NY in his name, I get all my Lexus emblems from him, bought like 4....
