Default stock sub removal

OK so I just removed the stock sub out of my 02 gs300 to make room in the trunk for my sub box, now my question is are there any negative effects to leaving the large opening on the deck?

I don't see how there would be a negative impact. When I put my box in, the factory space will be open and allow air to pass through as well as bass in the cabin.

If you would have left the speaker and put in subs you would have had ur negative effects. That is considering you are pushin enough air around in the trunk. Wouldnt take much. I would imagine that stock sub sitting there taking hits would sound like a kazoo once the cone starts pulling apart. Ur all clear for bass now.

The only downside I have with the opening is I can smell the leftovers I put in the trunk after dinner.

Don't look into dynamat. It's VERY overpriced. Go on ebay and buy some AudioTechnix 60mil deadener
