Default Replacing headlamp on GS400

I'm replacing a headlamp on my GS400 passenger side. Car got hit and the lamp is scratched to all hell. The levelling system still works and the bulb is fine. However, I'm having trouble trying to figure out what the story is on these housings. Some say W/ O HID. Some say HID. I'm pretty sure HID was an option back then, but is there really a difference between the actual headlamp assemblies? Which one do I need? Any help would be appreciated. Here are some of the units that I'm talking about.

If you have auto-leveling, then you must get the HID ones. That option isnt available for halogen. There are a number of differences in addition to the leveling. I did a few write-ups on this... I dont want to again but yea, you can only use the HID's (unless you feel like doing a LOT of modifying for them to work)... easier to get the HID ones

oh, and if you just want to replace the lens and are familiar on how to retro-fit, then you can get either one.

cant use HID's in halogen housing. The reflector bowls are different, the only reason it looks better is because its glaring all over the place.

Bummer, Well I guess I'll get it and then sell the scratched one. Probably won't be worth much though. Thanks for the info

Before you sell it, try taking some coarse sand paper to it and sand down till even with scratch... Then do a cut and polish. Worth the try.

I had very deep scratches on mine, I got the silver packet headlight restoration kit at advanced auto, best $25 I ever spent, my light looks brand new now, everyone said I was screwed and the scratches would never come out they were so bad, get that kit it's worth a try!!! It saved my butt..

Yea, but mine are deep. Like an audi s4's front end hit it and scraped it deep. Don't think they're going to come out.

Put in oven for 10 mins at 250*. then use some vice grips or something to hold it together and should reseal it.
