Default 1999 gs400 doesn't start - then it does?

I have a problem that I haven't found exactly the same issue on these great forums. If I leave my car unstarted for a few days (like over the weekend or longer), I have a heck of a time stating the thing - all power comes on but won't turn over for a good 10-12 cranks. However, once it's started it starts and runs just fine everyday...

Is this a starter issue? If so, why does it seem to do just fine as long as I run it every day?

It's a cold start issue.
You could clean the throttle body, alternator or battery issue, tune up, Could be anything really.
What have you recently replaced/serviced?
also check the battery terminals.
Good luck

Your starter is on its way out. Same symptoms I experienced.

How old is your battery and what condition is it in? If your battery is not the culprit then I am definitely leaning towards your starter.

Check battery first, then starter. It does seem though that these cars really like a good battery and they get cranky on even a moderately low battery.

Thanks all - the battery is pretty new and still in good shape. I was guessing the starter also but it doesn't make sense to me why it acts just fine as long as I'm starting it every day

Sounds like a fuel problem, maybe fuel pump is going out ? Check the fuel pressure when the car has been sitting for a while and giving you the problem.

Yuk - that stinks! I noticed today too that my vsc on / off and abs idiot lights came on. Car runs fine - is this issue somehow related or are things just starting (no pun intended) to fall apart?

That's due to a bad abs sensor

All those symptoms point to a possible weak alternator.

Have it load tested before you do anything expensive.

Its def your starter going. The same thing happened to me 2 weeks ago, had the starter replaced and problem gone. I had a tread going with this same issue.
