i sanded my headlights using 500, 800, and 1000 grit sand paper and it looks worse than before. im not good with these polishing/headlight stuff and im wondering if you guys could tell me what i did wrong? what i can do to make it clear again..thanks alot!
500 grit was too coarse. Try wet sanding with 800, 1000, 1500, 2000 then use a buffing pad/wheel on a high rpm buffer or drill with rubbing compound or meguiars headlight polish (white bottle blue liquid). Follow with a few buffs. Might take a few polishes with the pad to hit it right.
i think i used 800, 1000, 1500 wet sanded with 2000, 2500 then buffed it, and it came out nice! dont remember if that was the exact grits, but you get the idea tho.
just bought it and tried it out. i guess it works a bit. i used an applicator pad. my friend is gonna come over to buff it out for me with the machine. let's see how it looks...
